About this reel

The Shimano 23 Sedona C5000XG delivers exceptional value and performance for the demanding New Zealand saltwater environment. Built around Shimano's legendary HAGANE Gear and enhanced with SilentDrive technology, this spinning reel provides a smooth, rattle-free experience even under heavy loads. Whether you are softbaiting for snapper or casting from the rocks for hard-fighting kingfish, the compact 5000 size offers the perfect balance of power, line capacity, and a lightweight feel to keep you casting all day.

HAGANE Gear – Cold-forged drive gear ensures long-lasting durability, smoothness, and strength under heavy loads.
SilentDrive Technology – Eliminates microscopic play and vibration for a refined, whisper-quiet reeling experience.
Compact 5000 Size – Delivers higher line capacity and powerful drag while maintaining the lightweight body of a smaller reel.
AR-C Spool – Features a unique lip design that reduces wind knots and increases casting distance.
G-Free Body – Shifts the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod, reducing fatigue during long sessions.
Carbon Cloth Drag – Provides up to 11kg of smooth stopping power to turn large snapper and kingfish.
