About this lure
The Duel Mag Q Tungsten is a long-casting egi built for anglers chasing squid off rocks, wharves, breakwalls and shallow weed beds. A tungsten weight paired with a magnetic centre-of-gravity shift system sends the jig a long way on the cast, then locks the weight back into its fishing position the moment it lands so you can start working it straight away. With a low, centred balance point it darts sharply on the rod tip, making it a solid choice for covering ground on New Zealand squid grounds where fish sit well beyond normal casting range.
- Tungsten and magnetic weight transfer – The ball runs straight to the tail on the cast for distance and stable flight, with Duel quoting over 70 m for the 3.5 and over 60 m for the 3.0.
- Strong magnet lock – Holds the weight in place even when you are working the jig from a high rock ledge or wharf, so the action stays consistent.
- Auto reset on splashdown – Impact and line tension move the ball back to the fishing position, so the jig is fishing from the first sink.
- Patapata fins – Flexible fins vibrate in even light current, adding movement and attraction on the drop.
- Trick hooks with keimura finish – Hooks flex under load to cut down on lost jigs in weed and rock, and the UV-reactive finish adds visibility.
- System Colour range – Colours are named for the conditions they suit, making it easier to pick a jig for clear water, dirty water, dawn or night sessions.
