Squid Reels

(47 products)

Built for precision and smooth control, squid reels in the 2000–2500 size range deliver the light, balanced performance eging demands. Compact frames and finely tuned drags let you work jigs with clean rhythm, maintaining sensitivity to every pulse and pause. The gearing and line lay are designed for subtle presentation and distance, helping your line recover smoothly and keeping contact even in crosswind or swell. Every detail is about connection—between angler, rod, and the lure moving in darkness below.

In Australian waters, these reels come alive around harbour lights, kelp edges, and rocky ledges where squid feed. Pair them with 8–9 ft egi rods and PE 0.6–1.0 braid for total control over jig fall and dart. Whether you’re night fishing for southern squid or exploring clear shallows on calm evenings, a quality 2000–2500 reel gives the finesse, drag smoothness, and sensitivity that turn tentative touches into solid hook-ups.
