About this reel

The Shimano 23 Sedona 4000XG is a highly versatile spinning reel built to deliver exceptional performance at an accessible price point. Upgraded with Shimano's SilentDrive technology, it offers a remarkably smooth and quiet rotation by eliminating internal play. For New Zealand anglers, this extra-high gear (XG) reel is the perfect companion for targeting snapper on softbaits, spinning for kahawai, or doing some light surfcasting.

SilentDrive Technology – Greatly reduces internal gaps and shaking for a smoother, quieter retrieve.
Extra High Gear (XG) – Delivers a fast 99cm retrieve per crank, perfect for quickly picking up slack line.
11kg Maximum Drag – Provides serious stopping power to turn strong-fighting snapper and kahawai.
Versatile 4000 Size – The ideal balance of line capacity and physical weight for inshore saltwater applications.
Lightweight Construction – Weighing only 290g to minimise angler fatigue during long casting sessions.
