About this reel

The Shimano 24 Vanford 4000XG represents the pinnacle of lightweight spinning performance, boasting advanced Magnumlite technology for lightning-fast start-up inertia and high-end responsiveness. Perfectly suited for New Zealand saltwater conditions, this extra-fast gear model excels at softbaiting for Snapper in the shallows or ripping metal lures through the wash for Kahawai and school Kingfish. With its robust construction and ultra-smooth reeling, it delivers unmatched precision for both technical and aggressive inshore applications.

Magnumlite Rotor – Delivers incredibly low start-up inertia, allowing for rapid and precise lure control during technical retrieves.
High-Speed 6.2:1 Gear Ratio – Retrieves an impressive 101cm of line per crank, perfect for quickly picking up slack line when working soft plastics or fast-moving jigs.
11kg Maximum Drag – Provides robust stopping power to turn the heads of stubborn Snapper and hard-fighting pelagics.
X-Protect Technology – Ensures superior water resistance, protecting the inner workings from harsh New Zealand saltwater environments for lasting durability.
MicroModule Gear II & Infinity Drive – Creates a buttery-smooth reeling experience with minimal vibration, greatly enhancing bite detection and sensitivity.
Lightweight Construction – Weighing only 215g, this reel reduces angler fatigue over long days of casting on the water.
